The river speaks in Provençal—
A tongue both strong and musical.
It tells of fields, of olive trees,
Of lovers’ boats and summer’s breeze.
Its current bends like old refrains,
Through vineyards, reeds, and shepherd lanes.
I dip my hand and feel the past—
Still flowing, faithful, deep, and fast.
