“Love Came on a Thursday” Teuila Savao, Samoa (c. 1860–1920)

      February 28, 2026

He came on the day the market smelled of taro and

      rain.

My mother said no. My heart said always.

He left before the crabs were cooked.

I still wear red on Thursdays.
